What are the benefits of Lumsden Grinding?
VSN are specialists in Lumsden Grinding. Lumsden is the name of the grinding machine that has become synonymous with the process.
Our Lumsden grinding machines are accurate to a tolerance of ±0.1mm of the required size. Their unique design enables high rates of material removal and leaves very few ‘witness’ lines, even over large areas.
Our grinders have high performance capabilities with metal removal rates of up to 312 cubic cm per hour. Lumsden is the gold standard of grinding and offers a better finish that any other machine.
Our Lumsden Grinding Machines
We operate six Lumsden grinders, able to grind flat pieces up to a maximum size of 100” or 2540 mm in diameter. When combined with the high stock removal rates possible in our milling section, lead times can be dramatically reduced. The maximum size of the millers is 2100 mm x 1200 mm and we can offer an edge machining service too.
